Hope for Adassa Hannah Nichols - medical expenses

Adassa Hannah Nichols was born on Saturday, February 20th. Her mom, Audrey, and dad, Michael were excited to welcome their first baby into their family. That excitement has turned into an opportunity to rely on God's sovereignty and share his Peace and Hope through a truly difficult time.

Her birth started with an ambulance ride for mom, an emergency c-section, two hospitals for baby, and 2 NICUs. Right now, baby Adassa is 24 hours into being removed from sedation. She is being watched closely for possible seizures. This will be a long journey and the expenses for the family will be very high, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially. Please consider supporting the family financially so that they can focus on baby Adassa and not worry about the bills.

Giving thanks that Adassa Hannah Nichols is one week old today!   Thursday Michael and Audrey came up with a plan for the doctors after learning of their babies severe brain injury.  Their plan stems from their faith and understanding that their daughter was made in the image of God.  It is their belief that they must seek out all lawful endeavors to preserve Adassa's life.  Up until that point, Adassa had been under heavy sedation to reduce seizures which could affect her ability to breathe on her own, etc.  So the doctors, agreeing with the plan have taken Adassa off of sedation at midnight on Thursday night.  At midnight on Friday, Adassa had gone 24 hours without a seizure for which we are giving praise to the Lord.  

In addition to allowing grandparents to visit, we were also given the special gift of holding Baby Adassa last evening!  Grandma April and Vovó Karla were so Blessed by this special gift from the Lord!  We sang Psalms of Praise in English and then Vovò Karla sang to her in Portuguese!

Please pray for the Lord to perform a miracle, and for the will of the Lord to be done. Pray for strength, faith, wisdom, peace, and comfort for Michael and Audrey and family. Pray for the ministry to the hospital staff that is ongoing, for their salvation.  That they'd be made to stand in awe of the God of Michael, Audrey and Adassa and fear Him alone.  Michael and Audrey know their reason for being here is to seek first His kingdom and they are living that out faithfully even in the midst of dealing with one of the hardest circumstances any parent ever has to face in this life. 

Audrey told the doctor that her baby was precious and made in the image of God and that Adassa's "value" was not determined by her ability to function in society.

Michael and Audrey are holding up well!  They weep for their baby at home mostly then go to the hospital each day ready to give thanks for the gift of today with their baby.
