HOPE FOR AMBRA

“Life is so sad, Mommy. Why do I have so many problems? I just want to live normal life and go to school like my friends” tears felt down when my little 8 year old Ambra said these words. We had endless hospital visits, we met many doctors in last few months. This is not my girl, not the usual caring, loving girl I have. On that day I felt sorry for her being pulled out from school and I promised her that she will be back to class with her friends. But few days later the devastating news came, rhabdomyosacroma stage 4. We didn’t even know what it is, we didn’t know what will happens to us, we didn’t even see any of the beautiful life that last week we have on our hands. The promise is still in the air.

Quickly the treatment plan was made to race with the fast growing tumor. Ambra needs to have chemo asap. The little girl feels so happy because “just some medicines and I can come back to school”. She is singing every morning. She is playing all the games with her best to win (like all the kids in this world I guess). She tries her best not to complain about the needles and pains that she always terrified of. She tries to be the most silent and honest to say her prayer every night.

She still has hope. That’s the most important thing she has and the hope keeps her going on every day.

The chemo is tough, the journey is long. We foreseen with the 42 week chemotherapy ahead (without considering add on surgeries and radiation). We need help to carry on her hope.
