Avahlyn Scarlett is my precious 2 year old baby girl. After 3 weeks of being sick and just getting worse , Feb. 13th 2019 I decided to take her back to the Dr. For the second time. The first time we took her to just a walk in, bc it just seemed as if she had a cold , well after her antibiotics was gone and things had only changed for the worse we took her to her Pediatrician. After explaining the last 3 weeks to her Dr. He immediately sent her over to get blood work done and wanted the results back on his desk no later than 5 that day, he had already called the hospital to let them know this was to be done on an emergency basis . By 6:30 that day I got the phone call from her pediatrician that legit made my world stop turning right then and there.
" Im sorry, I have no other way to say this , but Avahlyn has leukemia. You need to get her to Shands right now they already know your coming " . the rest of that night is mainly a big blur. Me and my mom rushed her to Shands after having to get my 7 year old son Kaysons situated somewhere and as comfortable as can be, and me trying told hold a straight face in front of him so he doesn't get upset with in the back of my head the whole time my 2 year old has cancer and I would probably not be home back to him for a while . Today is March 6, 2019, we have been here since that frbruary 13th day. She has had a permanent port put in, she had had a bone marrow biopsy, and has had around 6 lumbar punctures with 2 more scheduled this week, and an MRI on her brain and Spine. All on top of all the chemo she is receiving along with other meds due to her staying abnormally sick and puking. She is almost done with the first phase of treatment, which is 28 days of chemo, her last day is March 15 and she will be getting another bone marrow biopsy done that day as well to see where we are at . There is 2 diff outcomes we can have from those results , 1) .the chemo took care of it and she will now be in remission, which means we will get to go home, but still have to travel to Shands at the least 1 a week for the next 2 and a half years to be monitored and still receive meds to make sure it doesn't come back, ( as well as anytime she gets sick we will have to go straight to Shands as well and a bunch of other stuff that cld cauus to have to go back there ) or 2) the chemo didn't work and we have to move to plan B, which is when bone marrow transplants come into play and things like that . .. My babygirl has a very long bumpy road ahead but she Will come out on top. She is taking this on like a true tough ass girl and I could not be anymore proud of her than i am. Watching her go threw this is something words cld never even come close to describing, but as each day goes by and I see her face this shit head on and become more brave and strong each and every day makes me the proudest mommy ever!! I will be ordering Avahlyn Will Win shirts for anyone who would like one and you can pay for them by donating money to this go fund me, the money will also be going towards helping my mom will all the expenses that is going to come with all the traveling, meds, and other things to make sure she doesn't get sick as this cancer makes it to were her ammune system is pretty much useless, and as far as financial goes I won't be much help since I will be having to stay home and keep a very close watch on my princess at all times, things cld litteraly change in a heartbeat.
Her actual diagnoses is Acute Lymphocytic Luekemia.
