Hope for baby Jax: A Heart Warriors Battle Begins
Donation protected
Help baby Jax fight for his life.
We were so excited to welcome our baby boy, dreaming about tiny toes, little fingers, and all the snuggles. We moved in the middle of my pregnancy to East Texas. I went to my first appointment with my new OB thinking it would be a normal quick visit with an ultrasound. Little did I know our entire world was about to be flipped upside down. We learned that baby Jax has several severe life-threatening congenital heart defects. He will need multiple open-heart surgeries to have a chance at surviving. Shortly after birth, baby Jax will undergo his first major open-heart surgery - the Norwood procedure - and will spend 2-3 weeks in the Cardiac ICU, then another 2-3 weeks on the cardiac recovery floor. Hopefully, we will then be released if everything goes well. Released for us though doesn't mean we get to go home. Because of the complications and higher risk for mortality between the first and second surgery, we will be required to live near the hospital for 6-7 months minimum, possibly a full year. This was not something we could have ever planned for emotionally or financially. We are now facing enormous costs for housing, transportation, bills, and basic needs of supporting our three other little boys and ourselves while fighting for Jax's life. We are asking for donations to help us have the ability to stay by our baby boy's side during this highly critical time. Because due to the complexity of his diagnosis, tomorrow is hoped for but definitely not promised. Please consider donating, sharing our story, and lifting our baby boy up in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
