Hope for Every Paw: Join Us in Helping Stray Dogs in La Paz

Hi there! I’m Andrea Castanon, founder of Bowie Shoots, a U.S.-based pet photography business specializing in fun, high-end pet portraits. Since 2018, I’ve hosted photo sessions across the U.S., dedicating a portion of the proceeds to support local nonprofit animal rescue organizations. To date, Bowie Shoots has contributed over $16,500 to nonprofit rescues across the country.

Originally from Bolivia, I’ve always felt a deep desire to help the stray dogs in my homeland. These dogs have long endured a grim and challenging existence. Without access to proper veterinary care and facing severe resource limitations, they are often subjected to abuse or succumb to starvation. This fundraiser aims to support local rescues in La Paz by providing essential food, medicine, and supplies.

In August 2024, I spent a weekend in La Paz meeting with animal rescue advocates and veterinarians. Thanks to your generosity, I was able to provide $10,500 in Bolivian currency worth of food and medicine to three local rescues in desperate need.

This April, I’ll be returning to La Paz to continue my commitment to helping the often-overlooked animal rescue community. I personally cover all of my travel and accommodation expenses for this trip. Every donation will go directly to helping these rescues, providing much-needed support through food, medical care, and other resources. With the exchange rate at nearly 10 Bolivianos to 1 USD, no contribution is too small to make a big impact.

With last year’s donation total reaching $1,500 USD, I’m hopeful that this year, we can double that amount and help even more animals in need. I’m incredibly excited to continue this heartfelt initiative and am deeply grateful for your continued support and generosity!
