Hey there. My name is Nic. If you have the (dis)pleasure of interacting with me online you might know me as Steadfast Ideal. I'm opening this fundraiser for a dear friend of mine named Emme, who many of you know as Negaoryx. She woke up this morning to an unthinkable sight: one of her beloved furry family members covered in blood and unresponsive. If you're one of the many wonderful people who visit her Twitch streams regularly, you know this fantastic rabbit as Faline or Faye.
Without going into too much detail, Faline suffered a rare condition that caused her body to expel some of her internal tissue. Needless to say, it's very serious and life-threatening. At the time of writing this post, the brave little bunny is fighting for her life awaiting the arrival of a specialist veterinary surgeon, as this condition is so uncommon that the attending emergency vet has never seen it in a rabbit before. This surgery is her only hope and even then it's a slim chance. Either way, it is a costly endeavor.
That's where we come in. I'm one of the fortunate people who get to spend time with Emme in person. If you've spent time around Emme online then you know how much of a caring and generous person she is. People who wander into her Twitch streams invariably become regulars because of the nurturing and friendly environment she creates. The type of content creator who can't help but be genuine, who doesn't milk a false persona for likes or views.
Emme is very open about her life regarding mental health difficulties and personal hardship. She's had an unbelievably hard year+ including undergoing major surgery, loss of income, and unexpected medical issues within her family. I've witnessed in person the positive effect adopting these animals has had on her mental health. It would not be an exaggeration to say that she would prioritize her pet's well-being over her own in an instant.
Despite constantly lifting others up in her friend group and the online community she's built over 7+ years of being a content creator, I know she would never allow herself to reach out for financial help in this way. She would be afraid of being a burden on the people she cares about most. That's just the type of person she is. Which is why she (and poor little Faye) don't deserve this to be happening to her but does deserve our help.
I've set the goal for $10,000 because that is roughly what the cost of the emergency surgery is. It doesn't even include the nearly $5,000 Emme has already paid for emergency vet services. If the fundraiser manages to raise above $15,000, every dollar past that will be donated to Bunny World Foundation, the rabbit rescue where Faline and her brother Figment were adopted.
Positive or negative, I will update this post with Faye's status post-surgery. Even if you can't give, please keep Emme and Faline in your thoughts as they endure this.
