Gyle's Wish

Maika Xiong's son Gyle is carefree with boundless of energy. He is very outgoing and a fighter since the day he was born.  For a little over a week, he experienced symptoms of fatigue, shortness of breath, always feeling full, and nausea after eating. He refused to tell his parents due to not being a big fan of doctor visits. However, he is such a brave young man and expressed how he felt to his parents. He remained calm and  little did he know, he was always a fighter and was already fighting for his life.

Currently in the care of Valley Children's Hospital, he was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Feb. 3, 2021. Doctors found a mass growing in his chest, enlarged spleen, swollen lungs, and abnormal labs. He had a bone biopsy and spinal tap done for further prognosis. He will be receiving intensive chemotherapy starting Feb. 4, 2021 and will be anticipating for blood transfusions. The news has shocked everyone. Gyle and his family are still learning to adapt to the changes. He wishes to recover, return home, and be reunited with family.
