Hope for Healing: Supporting Melissa’s Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Life has a funny way of keeping us on our toes…

As some of you might know, in 2018 I developed a cancerous cyst in my neck. I was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma of a thyroglossal duct cyst. It’s a very rare form of thyroid cancer, resulting in only 1% of thyroid cancer cases. After having surgery to remove it, it was determined that radiation or chemotherapy were not needed; the game plan was to have regular ultrasounds and scans of my neck for the rest of my life.

Fast forward six years (Dec 2024), it was discovered that a new cancerous cyst had developed in the same spot, in addition to a few lymph nodes in my neck (all tested positive for papillary carcinoma cells).

Although scary, I’m confident in the treatment I wish to seek, and that is at a cancer treatment center in Mexico; Hope4Cancer (Hope4Cancer.com). I don’t have all the details yet, and I will definitely share my progress as I start this journey, but until then, I’m trying to collect as much as I can to help with the financial burden this health issue will cause.

Unfortunately, my specific treatment plan will cost $68,700. If you know me, you know I struggle with asking for help, but I’m doing that now to see if I can collect enough to help with this treatment. If you’d like to donate to my treatment, please do so by keeping me in your prayers and/or sending a monetary donation here.

A little update: 1/18/2025
I am at Hope4Cancer in Cancun. Some results came back from all the tests that were done on the first day:

My thyroid itself has a cancerous nodule (which I did not know of), plus three cancerous lymph nodes (I only knew of two), and the cancerous cyst in the middle of my throat.

The most shocking news was…my kidney has one nodule, my liver has one nodule, and my lungs have a nodule. They suspect the nodule on my liver is cancer and will treat it as such.

My white blood cells are very low and I am deficient in Vitamin D (I will be getting IV’s for that)

We will do an MRI with contrast to confirm lung nodule

I also have hypothyroidism which is why my hair loss has been so bad for over a decade and she also is starting me on something to protect my brain health because I’m not getting a healthy blow flow to my brain because my thyroid isn’t allowing it which has caused the brain fog I’ve complained about when I first got here.

Because of these new findings, my treatment cost has also gone up. Although discouraging, I am so thankful these were found early and we can tackle what we need to right away.

I cannot thank everyone enough for giving me a chance to get treated at this center, where I truly believe I will be healed.

Update: 1/30/2025
Thank you to everyone for supporting me through prayers and monetary donations, it means so much. So, when I arrived to this center we did a whole bunch of tests on my first day. Labs, blood work, ultrasound, and a thermal full body exam. As a result, it was discovered that I had more cancer than I thought. Not only was it in the cyst in my neck, the lymph nodes in the neck area, but there was also a cancerous nodule on my thyroid; I was not aware of that. They also found a nodule on my liver (which ended up being cancerous after an MRI was done), a nodule on my kidney, and a nodule on my lungs. While they don’t suspect the nodule on my kidneys to be cancer, they do not know about the nodule on my lungs. Thankfully, all three nodules are small and we were able to incorporate my liver in my treatment plan for the three weeks I’m here. While the new areas of concern were a huge shock and very hard to process, I’ve accepted it and I’m at peace with everything. As of right now, I have Stage 3 thyroid cancer that has metastasized to my liver. We will monitor the other two nodules.

All the treatments have been great. Everyday consists of multiple IVs (B17, Vitamin C, Sunivera (https://hope4cancer.com/alternative-cancer-treatments/sunivera-immunotherapy/), and I’m going to get started on Tumeric and Mistletoe today) and other light therapies like oxygen therapies (hyperbaric chamber, rectal ozone injections), coffee enemas, ozone colonics, red light therapies and a few others. On top of all that, they focus on emotional and spiritual healing. While I came here to treat cancer, I think God had an entirely different reason for allowing this to happen to me. I never realized how much of an impact our own energy, emotions, stress, and trauma has on our immune system and our body’s well being as a whole. Here, He has shown me that the way I was living (trying to be strong, taking care of everyone else but myself, prioritizing other things before Him, trying to control to protect myself from more hurt and disappointment, suppressed emotions, and so much more) was not a way a life. I was killing myself. It’s been a beautiful and hard revelation but it’s been life changing. I’m finally allowing Him to take care of me, the way it should be. And although it’s tough and I have to work at it constantly, it’s been so powerful and amazing.
