Hope For Hospitality: Relief Fund

Donation protected
On March 16th, 2020 after weeks of slowed business and reduced hours of operation, the doors to many bars and restaurants in Philadelphia were closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This sweeping, yet necessary, measure was enacted in order to provide for both the safety of staff and members of the communities they serve. Unfortunately, these initiatives have adversely impacted thousands of servers, bartenders, and others who rely on their work in the hospitality industry for their very survival.

The vast majority of our ranks consist of low hourly-wage employees (usually $2.83/hour), who rely upon tips for the lion's share of our wages. The financial hit(s) being absorbed during this shutdown have been universally catastrophic. As we eagerly look forward to the day this crisis is safely in our collective rearview mirror, we are hopeful that much of the support shown to us when dining rooms are full - for which we will be ever grateful - will manifest themselves in alternate forms while they are closed.

To that end, we ask for a show of support in the form of donations to #hope4hospitality.

Our initial goal of $12K is enough to provide 25 hospitality workers in need with $400* to help alleviate the stress of the current shortfall. We hope this will facilitate the ability of recipients to meet minimum financial obligations (burdens which have not disappeared along with their jobs) until hoped-for government aid programs are in place.

You can purchase a t-shirt, sweatshirt, or tank top here and proceeds will go to support hospitality workers that are in need during the COVID-19 pandemic:

#hope4hospitality - Merchandise Store + Fundraiser

The purchase of a shirt  will not only see proceeds distributed to Philadelphia hospitality workers in need, but will also score the donor their choice of one of our original t-shirt designs! We hope to see thousands of t-shirts proclaiming to those often overlooked that they are being thought of in these challenging times (but only from 6 feet away or greater!).

We appreciate your support and thank you for positively impacting our lives in this time of need. We look forward to seeing you on the streets, in our swag once we are no longer social distancing.

Stay safe, stay healthy, wash your hands,

Hope for Hospitality
