Hope for Jay
Donation protected
On March 8, 2020 my nephew Jay Fizer, son of Ericka Fizer-Harvey was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike home from his aunt's house. Unfortunately the driver never stopped to check on his condition and left him there alone. Jay is a loving child who has a big heart and an even bigger sense of humor. In the days prior to the accident, he spent time in North Nashville and Hermitage volunteering with his mom to help families impacted by the tornado. He played football for the Una Bears and was a leader both on and off the field. All of his peers look up to him. He is a bright child with a beautiful spirit who loves to help and often volunteers at various businesses. The actions of one driver temporarily changed all of that. After being struck, the driver of the vehicle sped off and almost hit another person.
The police and the community are currently looking for the driver of the vehicle while Jay continues to fight for his life. He is currently in a coma in ICU with bruising and brain swelling, as a result of a severe brain injury. We are confident that Jay will make a miraculous, full recovery. However, this unexpected tragedy has put a financial strain on our family. Both Ericka and Chad have missed work as they sit by Jay's side around the clock during his recovery. Ericka works hard giving back to the community and often helps and encourages others.
Many people have asked how they can help. We appreciate any donation that you give. All donations will go towards his medical expenses and the loss of income that the family has experienced. Chad recently had to return to work because of the financial obligations of the household. Jay and Ericka NEED his love and support at Vanderbilt with them. He's on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, therefore his time with Jay is sporadic and limited. Please consider donating and sharing with others. In addition to donations, we appreciate your prayers and warm thoughts. Thank you.
