My name is Rami Donahoe. I’m a former school counselor with over 20 years of experience, a best-selling author, and, most importantly, a follower of Jesus Christ. I’ve seen the struggles our youth face, and I know the deep pain and isolation many carry—especially during the critical transition into a new year.
Statistically, the time following the fall holidays sees a heartbreaking rise in suicide attempts. Here on Kauai, where mental health resources are scarce, we cannot afford to wait—we must take action now.
That’s why I’m organizing You Matter 2026, a life-changing event to equip Kauai’s youth with the tools they need to thrive emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. This powerful evening will feature:
1. A resource fair connecting families to critical mental health support and after school activities to prevent isolation for youth
2. Suicide prevention strategies rooted in both faith and practical action
3. Inspiring youth performances
4. Testimonies from peers and community leaders
We are partnering with The Nehemiah Center of Kauai—the island’s first Christian Counseling and Services Center.
This event is more than an evening—it’s a mission to bring hope, healing, and the light of Jesus Christ to our island’s youth.
How You Can Help:
