Hope for Kylor
Donation protected

He was diagnosed with Doose Syndrome in 2014, just before he turned 3, which is a rare epileptic condition in children which has no known cause and is very resistant to medication.
He has suffered for many years with seizures of every kind, ranging from absence (staring seizures) 100+ times a day, to grand mal seizures. At the end of January 2020, Kylor’s seizures started to get worse - to the point where he was in “status epilepticus”, which means his seizures were continuous and last more than 30 minutes at a time. His parents used rescue meds, which are meant to stop the status seizures, but his body was rejecting the medication. They took him to the ER, which led to an ambulance ride to Salt Lake City Primary Children’s Hospital on February 1st. Once there, the doctors decided to place him in an induced coma in an attempt to give his brain a rest, add new medications, and try to get his status seizures under control.
Over the past 2 weeks he has remained under strong sedation as the doctors have tried many different medications hoping to gain control over the seizures, with not much progress. They have tried to wean him out of the sedation multiple times but the seizures are still occurring frequently.
As of Monday, 2/10/20, Kylor is still in a coma. The doctors have said that this is a “complex case” and they have come up with a new plan to hopefully gain control. We are hoping and praying that it works. He is loved SO much by his two supportive parents, his 3 strong and amazing siblings, hundreds of family and extended family members, and many many sweet friends and neighbors! We all just want our happy, silly, sweet Ky back!
Many people have asked how they could help so I have started this fundraiser to try and give others the opportunity to help the Argyle family during one of the hardest trials of their life. Every cent will go to Jake and Kelci and will be used to help lift a little bit of the burden of the growing hospital bills, gas money from driving to and from the hospital, any future medical supply expenses, and food money for Kelci and Jake while visiting the hospital everyday.
Thank you so very much to all who continue to pray and
send love to my sister and her family.
Please continue to pray for a miracle for our Ky guy!!! - Loriel Christensen (Kelci’s sister)
