Hope for Matthew: Fighting Cancer Together

My name is Collin, my wife Victoria and I are starting this Go Fund Me for my brother, Matthew and his wife, Sydney.
This has not been an easy decision to publicly discuss Matthew's health, but we feel there are not many other options but to ask you for help.
2023 was a year to cherish for Matthew and Sydney, they bought their first home in May in the town of Haliburton. On June 1, 2023, Matthew and Sydney were blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter, Raelynn. On August 19, 2023, Matthew and Sydney got married in a very small and intimate ceremony in Haliburton. In December of 2023, Matthew and Sydney were blindsided by an advanced cancer diagnosis. After many tests and some (still) unanswered questions, Matthew has been diagnosed with an advanced, rare cancer of the mouth/sinus. It is a non-surgical cancer due to the location and severity of the tumour. His only option is chemotherapy and radiation. This has left Matthew and Sydney in a position that no one should ever have to experience. Not only are they navigating shock, grief and the uncertainty of the future, but Matthew has been physically ill from the effects of the tumour. Matthew will be soon starting treatment, and will not be able to work, as he needs to focus on his health.
Sydney is still currently on maternity leave, but will be returning back to work next week, ending her maternity leave early to help support their family.
We wanted to start this to try to relieve them of the financial stress this will cause, we want them both to be able to focus on the fight Matthew has ahead. Travel will quickly become very expensive as Matthew will have to travel to Princess Margaret for many appointments, the trip from home to the hospital will be over 3 hours one way.
