Hope for Tanner

Occasionally Shay and Tanner get requests for a GoFundMe or Venmo link. This GoFundMe was created at the beginning of their cancer journey three years ago.
In the past three years, Tanner has undergone 4 major surgeries, 30+ procedures, 28 rounds of chemo, 6 weeks of radiation, endured sepsis numerous times, and spent weeks at a time in the hospital. All before age 29.
Shay has balanced working 3 jobs, full-time graduate school, and first and foremost being Tanner's wife, best friend, adventure buddy and caregiver all throughout his treatments.
A few months ago they had the sweetest dream to create a family together and family/friends/strangers rallied from all over the world to help them get there. They now have 8 little frozen embryos (4 boys and 4 girls) waiting to come to the two most loving and in love parents I have ever seen. The embryo transfer is on hold until Tanner's health can hopefully improve.
All of Shay's updates can be found on her instagram @shaylynnright. For those that requested, her Venmo is @Shay-Wright
Here is Shay's most recent update:
I quit my job today. The job that probably provided the most financial security of the three, but also the job that was taking the most time and energy away from Tanner.
Tanner has spent the last 2 months in and out of the hospital. He'll have a few good days at home, and then gets sick and spends the next two weeks in the hospital battling sepsis or treating his struggling liver. He hasn't been able to be on active cancer treatment since February of this year (2023), because his body has been so sick. Because of this, we found out recently that his cancer spread to his lungs. The tumors have inflamed his lungs so much that blood clots developed, preventing blood flow to parts of his lungs, which in turn caused part of his lung to die.
It's scary. This is probably the most scared I've been since Tanner was diagnosed. To see the doctors be worried, and confused, and tell us his case is complex is scary. The amount of grief we have endured over the past 2 months is incomprehensible.
All I care about now is spending every possible minute I can with Tanner. Whether that is in the hospital or at home in bed, in our Star Wars room and with our sweet puppy Luke. Wherever Tanner is, I want to be there.
