Hope for Xane

After a long complicated birth, our son Xane came into this world without any signs of life. No heartbeat, not breathing and no movement. It took the entire delivery team over ten minutes to get his heart beating and intubated. Due to the extended time without oxygen to his brain, he was diagnosed with HIE and has had an uphill battle ever since.
The next five days were the hardest days of our lives. His doctors told us he wouldn’t survive and asked us if we wanted to continue to keep him on life support. They told us they didn’t think he would be able to breath on his own and even if he could his quality of life would be terrible. We told them that we were going to keep fighting for him as long as he was fighting to stay with us.
After a long grueling stay in the nicu he continued to fight and miraculously began breathing on his own. Now despite being healthy enough to come home, Xane needs help. He suffers from seizures, he is tube fed, and has an early diagnosis of cerebral palsy with multiple developmental delays. We have spent countless hours researching and have found promising experimental therapies that have been shown to help the brain cope with damage and start to heal. We are asking for anything to help with the expenses to cover these therapies and costs of travel. Absolutely anything helps and we appreciate everyone who can contribute.
We want to give our baby boy the best shot at a happy, healthy life. With a little help from everyone, we have faith that we can make that dream a reality for him.
