Hope Gardens Childrens Library

We have a wonderful update on the childrens' library for the  Union Rescue Mission Hope Gardens Family Center !  (If Hope Gardens is new to you, please have a look at the Hope Gardens Family Center You Tube .)

Hope Gardens has a larger space!  The mural is almost complete - thanks to the CalArts student designers and the amazing Mr. Mike Rogers who has done the painting. The library will join Hope Gardens' computer lab, youth rec room and tutoring classrooms to support Hope Gardens programs for the kids to learn and develop. 

We now have a larger space to furnish and we hope to open the library before the kids return to school mid-August.  So that the library is more a bare room with bookshelves, we're reaching out again so our team can outfit the library and make it a comfortable reading space for the mothers and kids at Hope Garden.  We've not reached our goal of $5,000, so if you haven't already donated and are having a good year in 2021,  please consider a gift by July 4th!  The furnishings include a kids' table and chairs, bean bags, lamps to brighten the room, window coverings, a comfy recliner for the moms to read to their kids and a cozy are rug.  Our target goal will cover the costs of the furniture, including shipping and assembly.   These kids deserve new furniture for their new space.
