Hope & Healing: Custody & Divorce Support

With a heart weighed down by the emotional toll of divorce, I’m sharing my story, hoping for a glimmer of hope in this challenging journey. My two young boys, aged 6 and 3, are caught in the midst of an unjust separation from their mother as my ex-partner takes advantage of the situation.

Every moment spent with them is precious, filled with offering support and reassurance through their nightly tears on the phone. It takes every ounce of my strength to stay strong and assure them that they will be back with me one day.

As a trauma survivor actively embracing my own healing journey and breaking generational cycles, witnessing my children suffer without the support they so desperately need adds an indescribable ache to this challenging time. Amongst this, the financial strain is immense. I am paying $260 per week for my children to be able to spend time with me for a mere 3-4 hours, adding to the already significant financial burden. To add on to this, I am now being asked to vacate the marital home where I have resided alone (with my kids) for the past 2 years by January 10.

The divorce has left me emotionally drained and financially stretched. It is humbling for me to admit, but the reality is that I need assistance that I’m not accustomed to asking for.

I am urgently seeking legal representation to not only navigate the complexities of divorce but to be a voice for my children's healing and reunite them with their mother. Unfortunately, I lack the funds for a lump sum retainer, and I do not qualify for legal aid.
