Hope Slinger and “Baby Huxton” Iowa City Journey

Please pray for our son, his girlfriend and their son as we’re currently sitting in Iowa City hospital until further notice. Hope is 21 weeks and 1 day pregnant today. Yesterday we found out her water broke at some point, she has no amniotic fluid left and she’s dialated to 5 cm. We need to make it through the next 4 days without her getting an infection, going into labor as well as the baby staying healthy so we can achieve higher odds for her and their child. She has to be 21 weeks and 5 days before they can give steroids to help the baby and then she’ll get antibiotics. We can’t do steroids now as it would increase her chances for an infection and could put her life at risk. So, right now It’s a waiting game to make sure she stays healthy and doesn’t spike a fever or get an infection.

Right now, the only thing we truly need and appreciate prayers to make through Tuesday healthy and then prayers to keep doing well.

We appreciate the outpouring of calls, texts, snaps, Facebook comments, messages etc. I’m sorry to anyone we may have missed but the outpouring of friends and community has been appreciated.

Most of their income comes through self employment as well so the income they currently have will not be there during the next how many days, weeks or months they’ll be in the hospital.
