Please help my family evacuate from Gaza
My name is Mustafa Masoud. I am a Palestinian from Gaza, now living in Germany. The goal of this fundraising campaign is to collect donations to support my family in Gaza. My entire family is suffering from catastrophic conditions, due to the war that has been going on for six months. There are 9 members of my family currently trapped in Gaza: my mother, Fatt Masoud (62); my brother, Hassan Masoud, (38), and his children Muhammad Masoud (9), and Salma Masoud (7); my brother Hossam Masoud (37), his wife Dina Masoud (26), and their children Najeeb Masoud (5) and Siwar Masoud (6); and my brother, Mamdouh Masoud (29).
Over the last 6 months, my family has been enduring some of the worst conditions that human beings can survive. Since October, they have been fleeing from bombing. They survived an airstrike that hit our family home; a tank siege; and fear, terror, hunger, and harsh conditions while taking refuge the city of Deir al-Balah. I am asking for your support to help my family to survive and escape the cruelty of war. Please share this campaign with your friends and family and on social media.

The bombing of our house
In the first week of the war, my family’s house in eastern Jabalia al-Badad was bombed while they were inside it. It was a terrifying day, and they were all bruised and coughing due to smoke inhalation. They were finally able to escape, despite struggling to breathe, especially the children and my mother, as everyone fled the house, without being able to take anything from it. My family lost their home and everything in it. My brother's young children suffered post-traumatic stress as a result of the direct bombing of our house, the house next to us, and the entire area, which led to them being unable to speak for several days

Becoming displaced peopl
My family was displaced to the western Gaza Strip amid daily bombing and the terror of uncertainty. They arrived at one of the houses there, and then they were displaced under bombardment to the city of Deir al-Balah in the south of the Gaza Strip, on foot via Al-Rashid Street. I was in contact with my mother at this time and I was crying and my mother was crying. I felt that I would lose my entire family. My mother sent me an audio clip while fleeing from northern to southern Gaza, and she was terrified and crying. The voice of my mother and my nephews was tearing my heart apart with fear and sadness. It was a terrifying and cruel day for all of us. I was praying to God not to lose them because of the constant bombing happening all around them
I was able to record a voice call between me, my mother, and my nephews during their displacement trip to Deir al-Balah. You can hear it at the link below. I was overcome with a feeling that this was the final call in this life that would bring us together. My heart was torn apart with pain and fear, and I still live with that fear even now, the fear of loss.
My family stayed for two months inside a nearly uninhabitable bombed out house, suffering from a lack of food, water, and clothing, until the planes surprised them by bombing homes adjacent to them at dawn on Saturday, February 10, 2024. This led to shrapnel falling on their heads. As a result of the bombing, my 8-year-old cousin Mira Ali was injured in her head and eye. My nephews saw her bleeding. Mira and my nephew Muhammad are very close, and watching her suffer such a serious injury has deeply affected him to this day.
The bombing began again, along with gunfire, shelling, and incendiary phosphorus bombs, throughout the night in the city of Deir al-Balah, Al-Hakar Street. I cannot describe to you the horror that my family went through on this night; it was like a horror movie, but they lived it in reality. Throughout the night, no paramedics were able to reach the scene. Many of the neighbors were killed and some bled to death because no medical personnel could reach the area until morning

My brother Hassan’s wife, Reem, had traveled to Egypt before the war to spend time with her family. Unfortunately, when the war on Gaza began on 10/7/23, she was unable to return to her husband and children, due to the closure of the Egyptian Rafah crossing. Her children, Muhammad and Salma, live in the hope of seeing their mother once again.
Before the war, my brother Hassan worked as a history teacher, my sister-in-law Reem worked as a lawyer, my brother Hossam was a businessman, my sister-in-law Dina was an English teacher, and my brother Mamdouh worked for a private construction company. However, in addition to losing all their belongings when their house was bombed, my family is not able to earn any money, as the economy has ground to a halt during the war. My family is facing untenable conditions, including shortages of food, clean water, and medical care. They are now living in tents in Rafah near the Egyptian border, in a very harsh desert atmosphere.
Financial Details
The Egyptian government is charging US$5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child to allow Palestinians to exit Gaza through the Rafah crossing. For my family, this would cost a total of $35,000. It would then cost an additional $2,000 for them to move to Cairo. I anticipate the cost of getting much-needed medical care, renting an apartment in Egypt for the family for a year, and repurchasing clothes and supplies would be around $12,000, for a total of US $49,000.
I would greatly appreciate any support, even a little, donated to help my family escape this horrible situation that they have been trapped in for the last 6 months. Your compassion and empathy will make a big difference in our lives. Thank you with all my heart.
This is my nephews cat. They ran away from the house due to the severity of the bombing and were not able to take it. They loved it very much and were more affected by its loss. To this day, they are crying for it. It was definitely killed
I used to play music, and I worked in the entertainment and humanitarian fields in Gaza, and I still work here, and I practice my hobby of playing the Oud. I always gathered my nephews, my mother, and my brothers and sat down to sing
