My name is Cassandra and I am seeking help for my family. Here is our story...

My amazing husband Raymond was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease and has been on dialysis 3 days a week starting just over 5 years ago. He has had juvinile diabetes since a young child, he is now approaching his 38th birthday awaiting a Kidney/Pancreas transplant.

We have 4 beautiful children that have been strong as rocks with this unlucky hand of cards that we have been dealt. Livya and Jasmon are 14, Sophia is 7, and Landen is 6. They are little superheroes supporting their father through this unfortunate time.

Raymond completed his electrical apprenticeship 6 years ago in hopes of supporting his family with his new career. Unfortunately, he is no longer able to work and our family struggles with financial hardships.  In the last 5 years since diagnosis my husband has been in the hospital 41 times, sometimes staying up to 10 days per visit. This makes it hard for me as a wife to pick up the slack and maintain my career to support our family.

We are trying to recover from losing everything we owned 2 years ago. We lost everything due to poor worksmanship on our roof of the home we were contracted to purchase. The roof was never covered at the end of the work day and we had 3 days of severe rain that led to total loss. We were forced to move and had to restart all over.

Raymond needs a reliable vehicle to get back and forth to Henry Ford Hospital which is approximately 200 miles round trip. He will stay in the hospital up to 4 weeks after transplant and will have numerous visits for follow up starting at 2-3 visits per week  then once a week, then every other week, then once a month up to a year after the dual tansplant.

Raymond received a phone call from the Henry Ford Transplant Team on June 29th 2015 stating that they had possibly had a kidney and pancreas ready for him. We were filled with excitement only to get to the hospital to find out the pancreas was too damaged for transplant.

Raymond is at the top of the list for his blood type (ab-)
however, only 3% of the U.S. population have this blood type. His wait could be days, weeks, months, or years.
We are just asking for a little bit of help and a lot of prayers during the wait and remember to please be a donor on your drivers license because one donor has the possibility of saving 8 lives!
