Support Addie, our Resilient HIE Warrior

Donation protected
Addison Rose, our two-year-old HIE and CP warrior has been a source of light and strength for so many. While her presence is truly a blessing, her traumatic birth injury and reliance on a ventilator have completely changed the course of life for our entire family. Help us bring the gift of light and strength back to her! Addison works extremely hard in her therapies and is growing stronger every day. We celebrate every inchstone but we know the road ahead is long. There are many specialized therapies and equipment that are critical to Addie’s healing and could support her progress in remarkable ways. Unfortunately, these options are not covered by insurance, and/or are in locations far from our home, requiring extra expenses for travel. It has always been our priority to give Addison the best life possible and with your help, we can get closer to achieving this goal for her. We appreciate your support, time, consideration, and prayers! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Addie's Diagnosis
Addison Rose was born in March 2021. Upon birth, Addison was immediately resuscitated, intubated and rushed to the NICU. She experienced HIE (Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy) due to a lack of oxygen and blood flow to her brain just before birth. This came as a complete shock to the family, as Nicole went into labor on her own and Addison was a full-term, healthy pregnancy. This little warrior spent her first month in the NICU fighting for her life at Good Samaritan Hospital on Long Island. Addison was then transferred to Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center for tracheostomy and gastrostomy surgeries. Addison couldn’t have visitors in the hospital due to Covid restrictions so Nicole and Ryan lived without their sons, Addison's big brothers, for two months at the Ronald McDonald House NYM. To say this time was devastating and heartbreaking is a huge understatement. But after close monitoring of Addison and intense training for Nicole and Ryan, Addison finally came home in June to her family; she met her brothers and grandparents for the first time at three months old. Addison has since been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and is supported by a ventilator 24-7. She might be medically fragile, but Addison is strong and fierce. She is working hard on achieving respiratory strength, using her body in a controlled, purposeful way, and communicating her feelings and needs with vocalizations and gestures. She requires around-the-clock care from her parents and nurses and is loved tremendously by all. We thank you for helping her continue to push forward and being part of Addie’s Army!!
