Help Vero Fight Breast Cancer
Donation protected
I have some heartbreaking news to share about my beautiful, sweet, 35 year old sister, Veronica. A little over a week ago Veronica received a phone call from her doctor informing her that she had been diagnosed with Grade 3 invasive breast cancer. The following day she returned to the doctor for further testing and discovered that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. She is scheduled to undergo a full mastectomy on September 22. She will undergo the first part of her breast reconstruction surgery on that same day, with a follow up reconstruction surgery later next year. Following surgery she will undergo the "All the way " treatment that consist of 6 months of chemo, followed by radiation, hormonal, and targeted therapy. Our entire family is heartbroken, scared, and shaken by this diagnosis.
Vero has such an amazing group of friends that she has had for the past 15 years. They are all so wonderful and supportive. She also has an incredible group of friends that she has worked with at Head Start for the past 5 years. Veronica has made such a big difference to so many of her students/clients lives as a case manager. She is loved.
As everyone who knows Veronica is learning this devastating news, the first thing they say is how can we help? We have created a My Lifeline page for Veronica where family and friends can sign up on the Help Calendar to help with some meals, groceries, and transportation/companionship to Chemotherapies. But if you also ask how else can you contribute?
Since Veronica will not be able to continue to work this coming year due to how compromised her system will be and the amount of germs there are with preschool kids, we have all agreed that we would like to set up an account to help her keep on top of her medical bills during this next year. Veronica is the main source of income in her household of 4. Without an income Veronica and her family will face financial hardship with medical bills and everyday expenses.
We are reaching out to our amazing and supportive network of family and friends to help in whatever way they can. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to Veronica and her family during the next year.
We are all so grateful for your love and support. We could not make it through this hard time without you. I can say that Veronica is a positive woman who will grow and become even stronger with the love and support from all of us .
Thanks to all of you from the bottom of our hearts!
