Hi my name is Mary Beth. I have been a nurse for 23 years, working in home health for the past 7 1/2 years. I am a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 8. Besides myself, this campaign also includes my oldest grandson, Tristan, age 17, whom has lived with me since he was a toddler.
In July of 2015 I broke my dominent arm and was off work without pay. I was able to get the HIP Plus insurance which I thank god for everyday. In September I suffered a heart attack and I have a stent in two major arteries now. When I returned to work in November I was working part time. I also had a garnishment at the time. If I worked more hours, my garnishment went up and my insurance premium went up. I was literally making no head way. My two daughters helped until they could help no longer for they are grown and have their lives/families to take care of. Barely being able to keep my head above water, my car being repossessed two times, my utilites being well over $1000 plus, other bills very behind, my insurance premium going up and being dropped down to the basic plan and having co-payments and being totally overwhelmed, severe deep depression and severe anxiety have set in. In September I was again put off work with lumbar spinal stenosis and weight restrictions. I had 2 different procedures done and neither one worked. My back doctor said I was not surgery material and there was nothing more that could be done. My car was also repossessed again , this time being without it for two and a half months. I bought a truck with my tax check money so if my car was repossessed I would have a vehicle. Now it is down and undrivable.
With no income again, no help from family, I am in the process of eviction. My car in in the process of repo again, My bills have piled up so high. I cannot afford the co-payments on my many doctor visits and for my many medications.
There are so many things I am in need of, but my grandson has gone without also. He is my main concern. He plays football and wrestles and there are fees that need paid, this is the second year I have been unable to buy school or sports photos of him. But more importatly I have not been able to buy him any new clothes, shoes, just things a 17 year old needs. My heart is broken over this. I have never felt do worthless in my life. I have applied for other jobs, full and part time. Really needing full time of course and insurance I can afford. I never made enough hours where I am employed now to be able to afford the insurance. But I cannot get any hours because I am a liability.
I am asking for help so I can get a few things my grandson desparatly needs, to catch up a little with my bills, living expenses, car repairs, and gas to go put in job applications that I cannot do on the internet and hopefully job interviews, and to all my appointments and the grocery store. I need help immediately. I have been sick with a severe cold and respiratory, sever loose bowels, and major fatigue/weakness for the past 2 weeks. Tristan has many appointments also with his mefical problems and we both are seeing doctors out of town which makes it difficult to get to them. I have had to cancel or reschedule many of mine due to not having a way. I have a resp function test, a colonosctomyand family doctor I need to get to.
The help I would recieve would mean more to me than you could ever realize. Hopefully with a little help I can get back on my feet and find employment I am able to do. My grandson would be very thankful also. I just dont want him to be embarrashesd like young people can be over these types of situations. He is already on medications for some problems he is dealing with. I believe any help we recieve, he will feel better about things and be very, very thankful. I know there are good people in this world. I have been able to help people in the past and I would like to be able to do so again.
