Horace and Sara Gandy and family

Hi, my name is Susan Watts and I am fundraising for my daugher Sara and their family.

10 days ago her husband, Horace, had a seizure while at work in Texas. It was caused by a mass on his the memory cortex of his brain. The mass had grown to a size that it was critical it be removed as soon as possible. The neurosurgeon removed it on Wednesday, 8/25. He was able to get all of it and Horace should not need any more surgeries.

Because of where the mass was located, it has affected his short term memory. He knows Sara and the kids, information like his birthday and what month it is. He does not remember anything after his seizure that Friday night and has to be reassured the surgery is over and it was a success.

Sara and Horace make their home in Arkansas, with their 3 kids, Lilly age 6, Lucas age 4, and Walker age 3mos. Him being in Dallas is putting a severe strain on an already tough financial situation. Sara and Walker are currently staying in a nearby hotel, and the 2 older children are with their grandparents in Arkansas. We are fundraising help with transportation and housing costs for Sara and Walker.

He will most likely go to a skilled nursing facility that can provide rehabilitation and help him learn how to manage his memory issues. We don't know how long he will have to be there, or what their life will look like once he's able to be fully discharged.
