Like father, like son. The old adage reminds us that we are more similar than we think. As your medical power of attorney, I've needed to make some of the most difficult decisions of my life. The cancer that you were diagnosed with and fought off for so long unfortunately has spread to your brain. Because of that prognosis, I needed to make the difficult decision to admit you into hospice care. I'm trying to take care of you in the best way that I can, just like you took care of me in the best way that you could. Speaking candidly, I'm scared. But, you showed me that it's okay to be afraid. Being afraid doesn't mean that you will allow the fear to stop you from taking action. As the first born son of your family, you led the charge. As your firstborn son, I will now lead the charge. Ultimately, we keep our faith in God. However, we hope my father makes a full recovery. That being said, though, I'm raising funds in the event the unthinkable happens. With rising costs across the board, funeral costs are becoming more and more unmanageable. Speaking for the entire Montesinos family, we are grateful for any help you are able to provide. De tal palo tal astilla. El viejo refrán nos recuerda que somos más similares de lo que pensamos. Como su apoderado médico, he necesitado tomar algunas de las decisiones más difíciles de mi vida. Lamentablemente, el cáncer que le diagnosticaron y que combatió durante tanto tiempo se ha extendido a su cerebro. Debido a ese pronóstico, tuve que tomar la difícil decisión de admitirlo en cuidados paliativos. Estoy tratando de cuidarte de la mejor manera que puedo, tal como tú me cuidaste a mí de la mejor manera que pudiste. Hablando con franqueza, tengo miedo. Pero me mostraste que está bien tener miedo. Tener miedo no significa que permitirás que el miedo te impida actuar. Como primogénito de tu familia, lideraste la carga. Como tu hijo primogénito, ahora lideraré la carga. En última instancia, mantenemos nuestra fe en Dios. Sin embargo, esperamos que mi padre se recupere por completo. Dicho esto, estoy recaudando fondos en caso de que suceda lo impensable. Con el aumento de los costos en todos los ámbitos, los costos funerarios son cada vez más inmanejables.
