[Horse] Rider Down..!

Last Valentine’s Day...while taking a leisurely ride through the pasture at my sister-in-law’s little Florida ranch, Coop’s secret fantasy of being a rodeo horse got the best of him. When a bamboo branch smacked his belly he got spooked and bucked throwing Kris off of his back and stomping on her in his panic. He feels very bad for what he did and is very worried about Kris [see pic].

Unfortunately, Kris suffered a major Traumatic Brain Injury with an internal brain bleed/hematoma and a shift of the midline of her brain over half a centimeter. She had to have brain surgery [Burr Hole Surgery], drilling 3 dime-sized holes in her skull to relieve the swelling pressure and to save her life. Thankfully, Kris is recovering, but very slowly.

Her small business of horse training and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy has been put on hold for the next 6 + months.

This is a major source of income for Kris, which will be greatly affected by not being able to continue working. This income helps her to pay her mortgage, her truck payments, care for her animals, as well as basic life needs. Kris may be the most generous person I have ever met, always giving and helping others.
