Horses and Kids Building Healthy Relationships

Hi, I am Gwen Little, CEO of EveryThing Horses Inc. This non-profit is dear to my heart because I was that little 5-year-old black girl born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, asking her parents for a horse. In the 1960s, black families did not own horses, they had mules, and their children did not train to compete in Equestrian sports. For years Equestrian training and sporting competitions like dressage, show jumping, reining, rodeo and barrel racing were affordable and participated by those in the white upper class and British society. The twenty-first century is pushing a change in the ideology of what equality and equity should look like. And EveryThing Horses is a part of the change. Our goal is to reach and teach as many of our black and brown skin toned children about horsemanship and to help them discover the beautiful benefits of being a part of the Equestrian community. Our programs focus on 10 fundamental relationship building blocks that help build character, trust, self-esteem, and teaches peace making problem solving skills.
The money raised will help Everything Horses in three ways:

First, we can continue providing affordable services: Socialization Therapy Riding for children diagnosed with Autism, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, and other developmental delays. Horses Riding lessons to children in Foster-care, with incarcerated parents, and any child living in the surrounding communities. Second, donations will help care for three horses: shots, feed, and Farrier & Dental services.  One of our short-term goals is to increase our horse family though horse rescue and adoption. Whereby, giving a horse a new home, life and purpose.   EveryThing Horses Inc also provides opportunities for volunteers, community service, student work-study and internship credits.

Last and not least, your donations will help with overhead costs such as lease, insurance, equipment, and maintenance.
