Horseshoes of Hope Equine Therapy

Please help save our Therapy Program and facilities.
Horseshoes of Hope provides Equine Therapy to children and adults with disabilities and we also serve Veterans and their families. Our programs are designed for children and adults with physical, cognitive, psychological, and developmental disabilities and have a very broad range of application. We use the movement of the horse, and their personality, to make a physical and emotional connection to those we serve. We currently help individuals as young as 2 years old with chromosomal deficiencies to an 84 year old Veteran who has Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, there are many who utilize and benefit from our therapy who are on the Autism Spectrum. I would like to extend an open invitation to anyone who would like to visit our facilities and witness what occurs in our therapy sessions. We feel you would not leave untouched. Fox News 59 Special - April 2018
https://fox59.com/2018/04/16/horseshoes-of-hope-enhancing-lives-with-equine-therapy/
The program was started in June of 2010 after soul-searching and a long held desire to be able to help others in a lasting and meaningful way. We began by leasing equine facilities at a well-established year round children’s camp. During the next 5 year period, we developed and fine-tuned our equine therapy protocol with great success. The word of our programs spread and we were approached by an individual who offered a five year loan to establish our own expanded location. As a result of that loan we now have 10 acres of land and brand new facilities, which now include an indoor riding arena with a 3200sq. ft. observation room at one end, a horse barn and a third building for hay and equipment storage. The stipulation is that after 5 years we would repay the loan and take out a traditional mortgage. We have recently learned that the banks have arbitrarily determined a lower value for our land and facilities, because we have specifically developed it for this unique purpose. Therefore they are not willing to provide a traditional mortgage to cover our without a significant downpayment.
Why we are reaching out to you.
It is imperative that we increase the amount of downpayment required to secure a mortgage for our property and program. We do not want to face the possibility of foreclosure and the potential loss of our programs. Please consider making a donation to our cause, in hopes that we can raise enough money to save our programs.
The program needs you, our participants need you and our families need you. We appreciate any consideration you can give to this project. Thank you!
* Horseshoes of Hope is in the process of filing for its own 501(c)3 after having used a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor for a number of years. After conferring with our attorney and accountant, we anticipate that we will have our own 501(c)3 status before the end of 2019. Any donations made after our incorporation date of May 29, 2019, would then become eligible for tax deduction to a 501(c)3 entity
I Saw A Child...
I saw a child who couldn't walk,
sit on a horse, laugh and talk.
Then ride it through a field of daisies
and yet he could not walk unaided.
I saw a child, no legs below,
sit on a horse, and make it go
through woods of green
and places he had never been
to sit and stare,
except from a chair.
I saw a child who could only crawl
mount a horse and sit up tall
Put it through degrees of paces
and laugh at the wonder in our faces
I saw a child born into strife,
Take up and hold the reins of life
and that same child was heard to say,
Thank God for showing me the way.
