Hortencia Zavala Internship
Donation protected
The Hortencia Zavala Foundation (HZF) was created to honor the memory of our “Abuelita” by supporting worthy students needing financial assistance, mentoring, and training in reaching their scholastic dreams
In 2024, HZF expanded its mission to include paid internships.
Jacquelyn Jimenez Romero, a final-year student at the University of Washington, is the HZF’s Spring intern. “Working with Washington Latino News and The News Tribune has been an amazing experience that has allowed me to produce multimedia stories showcasing Latino culture and the everyday lives of Latinos in Washington state,” said Jimenez Romero.
Please help HZF in assisting young journalists get the experience they need on their road to success by making a donation.
