Hospital Bills for Joanne Irwin

Hello, my name is Andy and I am creating this gofundme in memory of my mom Joanne.

Joanne got sick unexpectedly in Spring of 2022 and passed away in September from pancreatic cancer that had metastasized throughout her upper body. Unfortunately, she was never diagnosed until three days before her death when she went to her local emergency room against her own doctors advice. From March of 2022 until her death, Joanne sought medical attention but time after time she received poor care at high costs. One particular hospital is charging her family thousands of dollars for a two day stay wherein she was kept in a hallway for over 24 hours, she was not fed for two days, she was not given any medications, and she still left without a diagnosis. Unfortunately, the bills kept piling up but we were not able to even begin treatment because she did not receive the diagnosis until three days before she passed away. Her own doctors office was told her diagnosis on a Friday morning and they left for the day without ordering the pain killers or setting up hospice as they had promised. We were able to use the diagnosis from the hospital to contact Hospice ourselves and they were a blessing. She passed the following Monday. We have created this gofundme in the hopes of getting some help with the medical bills that have come in since her death. She has left behind a loving husband who not only had to watch helplessly as doctors and nurses ignored her pleas for help but is now left with medical debt as a constant reminder of this terrible tragedy. Any money donated will go directly to the medical bills as Dad would like to have them paid off as soon as possible so he can begin the process of moving forward.
