About me:

My name is Elena and I recently retired to San Felipe in the Baja. It wasn't long after I arrived that I began hearing stories of people who in the midst of a serious medical emergency must travel long distances, over 2 hours,  to access medical attention. I want to help remedy this situation, but I can't do it on my own.

Will you help me to help the people of San Felipe complete the development of the much needed hospital?  Every donation, no matter the amount you can contribute, $5-$500,  will help us reach our campaign goal of raising $50,000 for the San Felipe International Hospital. If you cannot donate, sharing this cause with your social community will help us reach our goal.

About San Felipe and the Hospital Needs:

Currently, residents of San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico have to drive 2 hours to seek emergency medical attention.  San Felipe is a charming yet impoverished fishing village two hours south of the U.S. border on the Sea of Cortez. The population consists of 25,000 Mexican nationals living in unison with approximately 5,000 expats from the U.S. and Canada. San Felipe offers its residents plenty of sunshine, beautiful landscapes, an abundance of marine life and friendly residents. What San Felipe does not have and desperately needs is, is a hospital able to handle emergency situations, especially for pregnant women. In an emergency situation a two hour drive can mean the difference between life and death.

As a new resident to San Felipe, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Dr. Israel Jimenez.  Dr. Israel is a local doctor in San Felipe who is very dedicated to providing both emergency and non-emergency medical care to the people of his community. When he is not providing medical attention to those in need (whether they can pay or not) he is working diligently to build the San Felipe International Hospital. He is very committed to expanding the services the hospital will provide to local residents, especially in respect to expectant mothers with maternity care needs.  With his guidance and expertise I am eager to assist him in raising $50,000 to build out and establish the San Felipe International Hospital. Dr. Israel has already acquired a structure in town where he has begun the groundwork for the current hospital, but it lacks many essentials and requires development and improvements.

Again, Your donation will help fund the following:

* An anesthesiology machine

* A heating system for the building

* Completion of two maternity rooms

Going forward Dr. Israel  hopes to expand hospital services by providing basic health services from nutritionists, dentists, pediatricians, gynecologists, and general surgeons.

Thank you in advance for your donation to help achieve the $50,000 goal to develop the San Felipe International Hospital.
