Food is Love - Love is Community

Frank Grizzly’s is a local Food Pop-up that was started by a husband and wife who believe that food is the best way to change a person’s mood. Prior to the pandemic, business was on the rise and they were just starting to feel the love from their growing community.
“ Our community allowed us to thrive during the good times and it’s our responsibility to ensure that our community continues to thrive, especially through the bad times. For Frank Grizzly’s, food is love and we are committed to spreading love to our local community during these difficult and uncertain times.”
As a community we pulled together with the help of staff from R.O.C.K and staff from Visitation Valley Middle School to hand deliver meals to the homes and shelters where these families were living. Last year, we were able to provide warm meals and a pantry bag to 35 families every week for the entire summer. These meals went to low income, ethnically diverse families in the Bayview/Hunters Point districts of San Francisco.
There’s something special about receiving a hot meal delivered to your door—it feels good to sit down and enjoy food someone brought specifically for you. We believe that the experience of food helps our emotional well-being, while the quality of our ingredients helps to keep us physically healthy. And the pantry bag helps to keep staples in our kitchens.
We need your donations to make this project happen. $10 covers the cost of a meal and some pantry items. Our goal is to provide 150 meals a week plus a bag of pantry items on an ongoing basis within our community. $1500 will keep us operating for a week. $12,000 will allow us to feed families for 2 months and $25,000 will allow us to bring meals to families until June.
