Dementia, including Alzheimer's disease, has overtaken heart disease as the leading cause of death in England and Wales, latest figures reveal. Last year, more than 61,000 people died of dementia - 11.6% of all recorded deaths.​

This is an incredibly substantial proportion of lives that are taken by dementia each year in the UK. ​

With your help we can fund dementia specialist Admiral Nurses, who are a lifeline to families facing dementia - in the community, in hospitals, on the free Helpline, and in virtual clinics. They offer personalised clinical advice and psychological support; advise people about benefits and financial issues; support families in their caring role; and help build links with other health and care professionals.​
