House Fire 2: Electric (literally) Boogaloo

Edit to add: We do not have any sort of insurance. So unfortunately recovering from this disaster is entirely on our shoulders. Any and all help is greatly, greatly appreciated. Regardless, you have my deepest and most profound thank-you for even taking the time to read this.

My name is Ashley, I work at my local coroner's office and my passion hobby is rare and exotic lizard keeping and breeding.

After I got home from work on November 1st I took a nap -- and was woken up 30 minutes later by my husband alerting me to billowing black smoke.

Our home was built in 1942 and the wiring has never been updated - November 1st was the day it finally had a catastrophic failure.

My upstairs "lizard room" that housed my iguanas experienced an electrical surge which caused the grow tents that several of them were housed in to ignite. I lost 3 rare green iguana babies, and 4 of my other animals were burned -- including a coveted "snow iguana" valued at approximately 10kusd, whose burn injuries are so extensive I'm unsure if he will make it through the week.

Because of the cause of the fire being the electrical wiring and NOT just my lizard enclosures, we will be needing extensive electrical work on our home to make it save and livable again. That is what this gofundme is for -- just the cost of restoring electricity to our home.

The physical restoration, clean up, burnt clothing/furnishings replacement, and reptile related costs (vet bills and new enclosures/heat/uvb) are all on us and are already being addressed-- the wall we are experiencing is to restore safe electricity to our fire damaged home in this cold winter.
