House Fire (Billy & Brenda Powell)

From Cierra the Granddaughter:
Getting a panicked call at one in the morning is never okay, especially when it’s a call about your grandparents. Standing in the 10 degree weather, watching my nana and papas house burn to the ground is something I never expected, nor wanted to see. The back porch went up in flames while they were asleep. By the time the fire alarms in the house went off, their back door had already fallen in. They made it out and are unharmed, unfortunately, I can’t say the same for their house. Their house full of nothing but memories, irreplaceable pictures and other things, things from the military from my papa, and so many antique items, is gone. My grandparents literally have nothing. There is nothing left of that house. I’m not usually the type to do this, but anybody who knows my grandparents, know they would give the shirt off their backs to anyone. They’ve helped the huntland community so much, done anything to help anyone no matter what the time of day, and no matter what the situation. I ask that as a community you please come together for my nana and papa. They are the best people in the world, and they don’t deserve this. Them, my aunt and my cousin, lost everything tonight. So if everyone could say a prayer for my family, it would be gratefully appreciated. This could have been a lot worse, thankfully they’re okay, I wouldn’t know where I’d be without them. Everything in the house is just materialistic. But I just ask for all the help we can get. Thank you guys.
