House Fire: Help Healthcare Worker & His Family
Donation protected
My name is Jackie and I'm trying to help my brother Mike and his girlfriend, his son and their dogs Emma, Aria, and Coco, with financial support after a house fire on Thursday, December 15th in Spokane, WA. The house fire was started by dangerous, faulty, internal wiring according to the firefighters and investigators. Thankfully, everyone is ok, but the entire main floor/living space in the small home was burned or destroyed by fire retardant, and they lost all of their living room, kitchen, and bedroom items. This family is low-income and unfortunately did not have renters insurance to help with the losses.
I realize there isn't a lot of extra to go around for many people right now, especially during the holidays, but if you would have extra funds to spare, know that it would be going to really good people in need. Any amount would help!
I'd like to share a little bit about my brother: as a healthcare worker in senior care, Mike dedicates his life to helping seniors during the final chapter of their lives. Mike has shared countless stories with me about how he is often the last person and friend that a senior sees or spends time with before their passing. He has shared with me that he was often the last person during the Covid lockdown that held the hands of those fragile seniors as they moved on, alone without their families.
Mike does all of this intensely difficult and heartbreaking work silently, and even now after this tragedy, he hasn't asked for help. But I would like to ask for help for him especially now, and especially during the holidays when they are left with very little.
People need folks like Mike to help our families, let's help him and his family in return!
My brother and his family live a simple life, they don't make a lot of money and need help with the first/last/deposit for rent to move into a new place as soon as they can find a house that accepts them and their very good (albeit big) doggos. Right now everyone is dispersed at friends' and family's homes while they look for their next home. The current landlords are not giving them their half of Dec rent/last/deposit back until 'details are finalized' from moving what they have left out of the damaged home.
They also need financial help in replacing the furniture that was destroyed (everything in the kitchen and living room) and bedroom items (bed, dressers, clothes and shoes for work and day-to-day).
THANK YOU for your generosity, and blessings to you and yours during this holiday season.
