House fire on Court St in Auburn, Maine
Donation protected
Hello,
On Thursday afternoon, inside this historic Court Street apartment house in downtown Auburn, our sister Jessica was enjoying what used to be her home. Right before 1 pm, a loud pop was heard followed by flames and smoke. The fire burned for almost 3 hours before fire crews were able to put the fire out. By the grace of God, Jessica and her family were able to escape with their life, the lives of their 4 pets, and the clothes on their backs. Everything else, including their vehicle, was consumed by the fire, smoke, and water.
As many of you may know Jessica has a 15-year-old son and an adult son with a disability who depend on her. As a result of the fire, her husband suffered significant smoke inhalation while rescuing their dog from the blazing flames. At this moment her entire household is completely under her care, with no home, clothing, or funds to help alleviate the great loss that has occurred.
Jessica is more than a sister to us and to those around her. She is an advocator for her faith, family and mental health. She volunteers her time, thoughts, and prayers to help those in need in any area they find difficulty with. If the walls of her home could speak, they would tell of her loving soul, her hard work, and her hope for changing laws to improve the conditions within behavioral health systems and mental health stigmas.
We humbly ask for unity at this time as we help our sister meet the needs of 4 people. Let's come together and pour our love, prayers, and donations over Jessica and her family as she has done for us on so many different occasions.
