House Fire Recovery Fund for Dave Brewer

Hi, this is Rachel Toussaint, Dave Brewer’s daughter. As some of you already know, Dave was in a tragic house fire in Kill Devil Hills, NC on Friday, August 11th. He, his girlfriend Laura, and one of Laura’s daughters survived. The three other individuals who were vacationing with them (Laura’s younger daughter, Dave’s friend Bill, and Bill’s wife, Colleen) did not make it out of the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and is unknown at this time.

Dave and Laura were airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where they are receiving treatment for their injuries. While they are in stable condition, their journey to recovery is long and costly. They will be at Sentara for a minimum of a month, followed by in-patient care, and then at-home care. They will need multiple surgeries, daily occupational and physical therapy, and around the clock care.

Between medical bills, indefinite loss of income, on-going physical therapy after he is back home, grief counseling, transportation, supplies, etc., Dave is going to need friends and family to rally around him to support him financially.

The money raised will be reserved for the following:

- a minimum of six months worth of income for basic living needs (rent, groceries, bills, etc.)

-payment for the exorbitant medical bills he will be receiving

-physical therapy, counseling, or other related appointments once out of the hospital

-transportation, supplies, and any additional unanticipated needs

Dave has and will continue to endure so much pain and stress during his recovery process. Please consider donating so that we can ease his financial burden so that he can solely focus on healing physically and emotionally from this tragedy.
