Hi,

My name is Val David. I've started a GoFund Me for my sister, Patti, and brother-in-law, Steve, after a devasting house fire. On Thursday, 6/23/22, my sister and brother-in-law's house burned to the ground. They have lost their home, all of their possessions, and both vehicles.

Steve ran out of the house and tried to contain the fire with a garden hose, but the volunteer fire department was 15 miles away. The house was fully engulfed by the time they arrived. Steve sustained a second-degree burn to his head while attempting to salvage one car, but the fire was too intense. Praise God that no one was seriously injured.

When I was with them yesterday, I noticed Patti's purse and thought everything they owned was in her little purse. When Patti left their home for the last time, she frantically grabbed her purse and cell phone. After the fire, she realized she no longer even owned a pair of shoes.

While they do have insurance, Steve and Patti are waiting for the Fire Inspector, Fire Marshall, and three different home insurance adjustors to complete their investigations. They are currently living in a hotel while trying to recover from this life-changing event.
