Help House Orange County Homeless Youth Campaign - November 2019
Did you know there are 271 youth in Orange County, California who are experiencing homelessness? This includes many young individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 who have aged out of the foster care system. They are on their own with no support system to lean on, and the clock is ticking.
These are former foster youth who had been placed into the foster care system for various reasons including the sudden death of their parents or being removed from dangerous and unstable families. Some had even been victims of human trafficking.
Once out of the foster care system, homelessness is a daily concern.
Orange County is one of only two communities in California to receive HUD's brand new Foster Youth To Independence Initiative housing vouchers.
25 former foster youth have qualified and already been identified in Orange County, but they need help finding housing that will accept these vouchers, as well as help covering security deposits holding fees furnishings, and move-in costs.
We have already secured funding to house seven former foster youth through our WelcomeHomeOC Program. Help us raise $228,060* to help house the remaining 18.
Are you in? Donate now, and please share this link with your friends and family!
In gratitude,
