Help keep me safe! I need an MRI
Donation protected
On the 17th of November, our 7 year old daughter was given a preliminary diagnoses of brain tumours. She has ASD/ADHD and has been having profound behavioural difficulties with severe anxiety. She currently sleeps on the top bunk in a bedroom she shares with her sister.
Unfortunately, due to her symptoms and new medication, it was explained by the paediatrician that she should not only not be in a bunk, but she needs her own room, with security locks on all entrances and gates.
To make this happen we have to renovate her bedroom and upgrade our front gate locks to improve safety.
So things we need and want to do include:
-Interstate travel and other expenses to get a private MRI (earliest available in Victoria isn't until March)
-Replace Katies bunk bed with a new single bed.
-Install security black out blinds with reinforced glass. Part of Katies ASD, she likes to climb out windows and run away, especially from her bedroom.
-Install solid anchor points in the roof to install a claming therapy swing
-Install a safer cooling option in her bedroom as her window will be secured closed and her ceiling fan is now not appropriate for safety reasons.
-Anchor all furniture in Katie's bedroom for safety
-Upgrade our security latches on the gates for better protection.
If we have funds left over, we'd love to give the kids bedrooms a freshen up with some new paint and curtains.
We are going to run some working bee's over the Christmas holiday's to achieve this.
These changes will not only make huge positive changes to our families functionality, but help improve Katies heath and well-being.
