Healing & Housing Help for Eileen13 !

Hello caring friends and those we have yet to meet~

One of our dearest in community, Eileen Sheehan, has taken several hard hits in recent months, from an ovarian cancer diagnosis, to a brutal abdominal surgery, to being several sessions into chemo right now with more on the way in the weeks to come, to losing her housing at the exact same time the traumatic cancer treatments were just getting started.

If you live in or around Ithaca, you likely appreciate the gorgeous and colorful flowers adorning intersections throughout downtown. As an employee of the Tompkins County Cooperative Extension Community Beautification Program, Eileen has labored for many seasons in the planning, planting, watering, weeding, and all-around tending to these many beauties since 2017! You may also know Eileen from her other caring endeavors over time- including as an occupational therapist, a builder of homes, a residential landscaper, an animal whisperer, and a music enthusiast enjoying lots of amazing live shows with fun-loving friends whenever possible. All of the care Eileen shows for others' lives we can now help reflect back to her through this campaign 2.0.

When the diagnosis first happened, many folks generously rallied behind a modest fundraiser for lost income during a portion of her treatment. Now, with housing insecurity on top of the lost income and various uncovered medical and healing expenses, we are starting a second fundraiser with a bigger goal that will hopefully pay for or at least greatly offset these unexpected expenses for the next 6-12 months of both healing & acquiring new housing. We hope you will consider donating if you have the means, and/or sharing the fundraiser with your networks as much as you can. Every little bit helps and adds up, including hitting the share button.
