Housing the Girls

Update 02/03/2025
The goal was increased to 10k because the funds are being used by 2x Black Trans Women with varying needs. Affordable safe housing under the current political climate is difficult and scarce for Black Trans Women. We’ve been searching throughout the city for a place to House the Girls to shorten this period of housing insecurity. We need additional assistance while we continue to search for a safe home for the girls. In the meantime expenses continue to rise because we weren’t able to meet the goal. The girls still need transportation, healthcare, food, and other livelihood support and assistance during this time ❤️‼️
Update 02/02/2025
The initial goal of $5000 was not met in time for the move out, nor were our efforts to reach 50% by Jan 31st. Consequently we’ve had to increase the goal to meet the increased need and urgency. As you all know the longer you’re housing insecure the harder and more costly it becomes to get back on your feet. Because of the adversities Black Trans Women face we need to make sure we’re continuing to support the girls through this difficult and uncertain time ❤️‼️
⬇️—-Initial Post & Purpose —-⬇️
Hi everyone, two Black Trans Women in Philadelphia are in desperate need of financial support after being forced to vacate their homes due to unlivable conditions and a terrible landlord . The girls need any support right now to survive this incoming year as they figure out their housing.
I made this crowdfunding for them because they need all the help they can get. We're raising $5000 to be able to smoothly house the girls.
The girls need the money for :
Medicine
Winter Preparation
Food
Clothing
Transportation
Housing
