Houston Area Cherokees - Winter Weather Crisis

As the greater Houston area has experienced the most severe cold front in decades, the Cherokee Citizen’s League of Southeast TX has seen a high volume of urgent requests for necessities: water, food, plumbing supplies, and home repair supplies. We ask that you help address these urgent needs by donating to this fund, which will be used for gift card purchases to Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, and Target.

Here is a typical example of a need request we received: "[my family member] lost their jobs since March and had finally got on unemployment in Sept. My granddaughter is working part time but it is very sporadic - they also said food was hard to find.  They might need help later on about how to handle getting bottled water and food, also what help they can receive if they get one of those high utility bills." 

During Hurricane Harvey, we assisted dozens of families using this same means, and this made a big difference to these families. Please consider donating today. Wado.
