Produce a diverse & FRESH sitcom about NYC living

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Camille Hugh and I'm a writer/filmmaker on a mission to create entertaining content that brings joy and laughter to people's hearts (no doom and gloom over here). My stories feature diverse women of color with hilariously relatable first-world problems you'd want to eavesdrop on over brunch and root for.

I have a dream of creating tv and feature films starring women of color- I know, a lofty goal, but totally worth it. Why is it lofty? Because there are tons of people who incorrectly think stories like mine won't sell - gatekeepers and naysayers. And if your work isn't heavy and traumatic, you are at an even bigger disadvantage. But I'm not one to sit on the sidelines and twiddle my thumbs- I've been writing, producing and directing web series, short films, and sketches for 3 years and honing my skills. In doing so I've come to realize that my shows don't need to be on a major network to be seen and enjoyed all around the world.

As such, I've produced the pilot episode of a show I wrote about the bizarre rules of living in NYC called How to be a New Yorker. I dipped into my savings, hired talented local actors and crew, and made the darned thing. And it's pretty good!

The goal is to make an entire season (10 episodes) and be able to pay everyone (actors, crew, catering, post-production services, etc.) involved a fair wage. Oftentimes writers / filmmakers are limited by FUNDS but I decided to invest in seeing the story I wanted to see on screen in the hopes that others who enjoy my content will help me create more OUTSIDE of the typical Hollywood studio system where it's all about who you know.

With that said, please check out the first episode and lend your support by liking, subscribing, sharing and giving whatever you can. Any amount helps- truly. In return, you will receive producer credit for the series and my undying love and appreciation.
