Celebration of Life for Howard Powell

Hi everyone, my name is Asa Powell. My dad, Howard Powell, passed away early Saturday morning. He was a rockstar, a loving brother, uncle, and cousin, a fiercely loyal friend, and the coolest dad ever.

We, as his family and close friends, are truly devastated by this sudden loss. My dad was loved by so many and touched so many hearts by being his fun-loving and deeply passionate self. We have started this GoFundMe to support his very clear wishes that he communicated when he was alive for how he wants to be sent off whenever his time came.

His wishes are to be cremated, and instead of a traditional funeral, to have the biggest outdoor jam session & barbecue with all of his friends, family, and loved ones, and go out with a bang. If you know my dad, you know this is spot on for him and would be the most accurate and honorable way to celebrate his life.

This fund will be used for the expenses that will come with sending him off exactly how he wishes, which includes funeral home fees for cremation, all materials necessary for the jam session memorial, and if possible, expenses to make sure everyone he would want to be there can be there/ease some of the financial pressure that has come up for his immediate family as a result of this great loss.

For full transparency, the most immediate financial needs and usage are for his aftercare, and the jam session memorial will take a bit more planning, and would come a little bit later as it gets warmer outside, simply due to the weather restrictions of this time of year.
