Howie Benns

This is my father... Howie Benns. Alot of you may remember him as a hydroplane racer...from Sudden Seven...Miss Budweiser...and many other boats. He was one of the best hydroplane racers around. Since June of 2017 he has been in and out of the hospital. It started when he broke a couple ribs...then had quadruple bypass....followed by double pnemonia. In the hospital ...out of the hospital back in the ER. In new York he was in the hospital from the end of June through September with brief moments at home. I finally got him back to Florida. A new PCP and cardiologist believing we where on our way to recovery.....spent Christmas with him....which is where the picture is from. Again to the ER in cape Coral....has surgery on both feet as he incurred a horrific infection in the bones and blood stream. He is released and again we are positive. New year's Eve back in the ER. He was released on January 15th with a pic line to administer one antibiotic every 8 hours and two other antibiotics every 24 hours. My Dad is tough....he is strong but he is struggling to keep up each day. He has had 7 hospitazations since June and numerous ER visits along with doctor and specialist visits. My dad cannot be alone....he is now in cape Coral with a very kind man who I can truly say is my brother Tom Moss. As can imagine the bills are astronomical! I don't like asking for help but I don't have an option....I would appreciate anything that anyone can do....thank you for listening to our story.
