#HOYTSTRONG
Some say that the toughest times bring out the best in people and that during these difficult times you find out just how many friends you have. I have never known this to be truer than since my husband suffered a paralyzing spinal cord injury on July 9, 2016. The outpouring of love, concern, well-wishes, and offers of support has been simply incredible, if not almost overwhelming at times.
As many of you know, Gayle has always been described as “one of the good guys” whose hard work ethic, dedication to his friends and family, and perseverance to accomplish any task at hand is what makes him unique. As many of you can attest, he has always been the first one to extend a lending hand to help anyone in need. However, now the tables have been turned and, unfortunately, he is not as good at asking for help. So, this is why I am reaching out for support from all of you to help Gayle and I in this life changing event.
We are in the very early days of what will be a long and difficult road to regain as much functional independence as possible in order for him to return to work and for us to be able to forge a path ahead in the next chapters of our lifelong journey together.
Gayle will be heading to Rehab soon and some of the many things that need to be accomplished with The Funds in the next two months include:
Home modification for wheelchair accessibility
Adapted vehicle with hand controls
Continued Out-patient rehab with the goal of returning to work as an aircraft mechanic
Medical equipment and continuing medical bills
So, rather than sending flowers or cards, etc., we request that instead you just make a small donation to his Fund so that the money will be put to good use. Every little bit counts and we are endlessly grateful to everyone for their generous support.
Warm Regards,
Susette Hoyt
