Anders' Family

Hi, I'm Christi and my sister Lori's 6 year old son, Anders, was suddenly diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) last week. This is an aggressive malignant neoplasm of the bone marrow. The bone marrow makes too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). They caught it early and the outcome for treatment is good. Anders is currently at Texas Children's Hospital in the Medical Center in Houston. He might be there for 1-2 months and full treatment is about 2 years and may include a bone marrow transplant. Darren, Anders' father, has been by his side and in turn had to take unpaid leave from his job. Lori and Darren are in need of general assistance with bills, gas, and travel costs to visit Anders. He is a sweet boy who just started kindergarten. He likes watching Goosebumps, playing with his cars, going to the park, and talking about the planets.
