HRG Aid for Guayanilla, Puerto Rico

At Hamacher Resource Group (HRG), we’ve always had a strong emphasis on giving back to the community. A vital part of our culture is that we are a giving organization – we value our employees, and it’s important to us to honor and support organizations that they believe in. Every year we ask our associates to suggest organizations or causes that they personally care about and are passionate about helping.
This year, one of our causes was hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. This situation touches the HRG family in 2 ways: 1) we have a valued client, Drougeria Betances, headquartered in Puerto Rico, and 2) one of our employees has a direct connection. Nelson Rodriguez, merchandising analyst at HRG, was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico and spent 19 years of his life there. Most of his family still lives there.
Ten HRG associates have volunteered to travel to Guayanilla to work with Mayor Nelson Torres Yordán to support the residents and their rebuilding efforts, January 3-10, 2018. While HRG is offsetting a portion of the cost for this trip, we’d like to raise money to help our employees with their travel expenses, as well as provide some much-needed relief items. And, in the holiday spirit, even some gifts for local children to help them celebrate the Three Kings holiday, which takes place on January 6th – an important part of Puerto Rican culture and customs.
We’ve set up this GoFundMe page with the goal of raising a minimum of $10,000 to make our trip a success and help in as many ways as we can. Please visit our Facebook page to hear more about Nelson’s story and learn more about our company. And please help us help them!
